I have been an ICT3 for 2 years now (joined July 2019) in TechOps (Hardware). I brought up ICT3 -> ICT4 conversation with my manager and skip manager and both are supportive of the idea. These conversations started around January of this year. Is that too late? 1) Given these time lines, can I expect to be promoted in this October? 2) I got an 8/9 in last October review and cash bonuses twice in the mid year reviews. 3) There was also a company wide email about the review cycle changing. There are no standards at Apple. It’s up to whether your manager proposes your promotion and it gets approved.
So if we attach weightage to the decision making authority Manager: initial proposal Skip: 60% Director: 40% … Is this somewhat accurate? Or is it the case that it has to be unanimous?
I think it’s org dependent. Promotion to ICT4 only needed M3 approval in my team.

Skip level manager means a second level manager or your manager’s manager
