BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
What’s more valuable with 2 YOE: 1) Staying where you are with a guaranteed promo next cycle and likely management opportunities soon after Or 2) Leaving for a same level role somewhere with significantly better TC (difference of almost 100k) Assume both companies are comparable in terms of outlook, interesting work, etc
#2 all the way buddy
chase after dat TC!!!
If you see a growth and good leader/mentor(manager) is in your current then stay
Don’t know how you can argue with higher salary lower responsibility. Unless you deliberately want to go into management and wouldn’t be happy otherwise. But hey why not take the higher TC and chase the management route in that company? It might take longer to reach management, but you’re already ahead by $100K so you’re good.
In my experience, companies don't like to bear the risk of hiring a novice into a management position, so if you really want to go into management, then you might want to stay at your current place. You could also try to work with your new hiring manager to identify a path into management within similar timeframes. All other things being equal, go where the pay is better and the opportunity to grow exists.
Move. Higher salary lower responsibility
