Promotions and Re-Orgs

Hi all, My department is going through a pretty drastic re-org to support growing business needs and new priorities. We are hiring new talent to upscale the team, and ive been promised a sizable promotion into management/leadership. That being said, the promise was over a month ago. I wrote job descriptions and have been performing the duties required of the new role since, without any formal announcement to the current team or approval by HR. This is causing some internal team drama as my team is questioning why I’m taking on these new duties. My question is this... how long is typical for an HR department to approve a re-org like this, and how long should I wait sit on this?

Don't trust HR unless HR department has given something in written.

bring it up with your leadership every week at the beginning of the week. if they don't follow through, start applying for jobs

Let your manager know that unless an announcement is made by him or her you cannot do your job effectively managing your own team. If your boss or whoever promised you the promotion is serious about supporting you and giving you what they said, I’d like to think that would be a no brainer unless there’s some company politics in Play.
