Hello people, I recently accepted an offer from LinkedIn and my recruiter mentioned that huge amount of RSU were given during promotions (Ex: 300-400k worth given for Senior to staff promotions) Is it true ? LinkedIn offer: senior software engineer Base: 180k RSU: 335k Yoe: 4.5 years
Promotions are hard at LinkedIn
Can someone get Senior Software engineer with 3 yoe ? Also, what is the difficulty level of interviews ?
Not in India
Cannot just be a coincidence LinkedIn!!!
Current level at msft ?

At 4.5 yoe, unless you are a genius it is unlikely you will get to staff in less than 2 years in, most likely in 3 years
Hey., thanks for replying., the question is not about when will I get promoted to staff ., it’s about whether the huge RSU is given during promotions or not ?
Depends on your TC at that time. They’ll make your TC around 400K. If due to stock appreciation you are near 400K, you might not get anything.
No, not that huge rsu from sr to staff. They will grant it based on your target tc next 1-2 years. 200k grant from sr to staff is the grant slightly on the high side. Some even got less. I think the highest ive seen is 250k
+1 to this.
400k if you are cliffing and promoting at the same time which rarely happens.
Do you mind sharing what sign-on bonus they offered you?
Moving from Microsoft to LinkedIn - no sign on bonus according to some rule
How much unvested stock did you already have at msft? How much more did linkedin give you?
I have 35k unvested stock at Msft and LinkedIn gave me an additional 300k stock
Wow. Nice
What's the relocation package ?

You should have asked the question before accepting the offer. It’s too difficult to get promoted from senior to staff. Don’t even bother worrying about it. You’ll probably switch to a different company before even getting close to promotion 🤦♂️
Second this, too much bs
