I have been trading successfully for many years and would like access to more capital as an independent prop trader. Anybody doing this as a side gig? What are reputable prop firms? Not looking for full time employment like Jane Street, HRT, etc.
We’re exactly on the same page here. I’ve been going through this for the past year. I have a few plans in motion already and it’s been paying off. Let’s chat over DM.
DMed you
You’re serious? 😂
Yes why?
How are you going to get in? Let’s just assume your skill and experience is there. These places aren’t like tech where self-taught people coming in is common. There’s gatekeeping. That is to say: They’re not going to believe you have skill and experience if you’re not coming from another firm, or you’ve green recruited as a new grad. The best thing to do is to probably start your own firm, be successful, and make a name for yourself.
How do you not have capital if you’ve been succesful
SMB Capital for stocks. If you are Futures trader, there are many out there but start with Topstep.
What instruments are you trading? Stocks or options Are you day or swing trading?
Most have a pretty bad reputation. Why can't you raise money from friends/family instead?
Almost/on the verge of being profitable trading myself.
What are you trading? Just curious. I work at a market maker, so I'm not allowed to trade as a side gig, so can't give advice on that unfortunately.
