Since last few days , I have started receiving lots of spam calls . Some of them include repeated calls as soon as I disconnect. I haven’t understood what is accomplished from these robo calls but it has happened alongside with T-Mobile data breach. Today, I received the following message: T-Mobile has determined that unauthorized access to some of your information, or others on your account, has occurred, like name, address, phone number and DOB. Importantly, we have NO information that indicates your SSN, personal financial or payment information, credit/debit card information, account numbers, or account passwords were accessed. They have no indication of SSN and other details being breached , however it doesn’t mean that it hasn’t been taken. Easiest thing holder of our information can do is port out our number and take it for themselves, then use It in myriad of ways and fake our identity. Financial theft is smallest of concerns at this point. We can still get our credit cards changed , how about SSN number, I don’t think it can be changed along with keeping our credit history intact, or if it can be changed at all. What can we do at this point to protect our identity? Do you think this can harm us at all? #tmobile #databreach #ssn
Freeze your credit at the three bureaus.
And then when to unfreeze?
When you're buying a car or house, applying for a new credit card. Half of the US population's SSN is floating out there thanks to the Equifax hack.
