Looking to see someone for depression. I've never seen someone for mental health before. Should I be looking for a psychiatrist or therapist?
Therapist or counselor. Psychiatrists only prescribe meds
I don't think they can help. You need to hit up Vegas and the ranches there like Lamar Odom. Got his life and wife back together within a week and now a recovered and rejuvenated new man.
Wrong. I’ve seen depression medication work miracle in a close friend. I was desperate to help but no amount of talking or consoling seemed to work. That said my friend had gone through a rough patch (career wise and a tough breakup), after taking meds for a while got life back on tracks and went off meds.
How were the side effects? Lamar's side effects were at least good.

Psychiatrist can prescribe medication as well as try talk therapy. Therapist will only listen to you and uses talk therapy. Depending on how sever you think your situation is, you may pick one or the other. Hope you feel better soon.
