I have a green card but if you would look at my employment history it shows I have a degree and work experience in another country. I'm concerned that is reducing the number of reach outs I would be getting via LinkedIn as they may think I require sponsorship. Should I put my GC status on LinkedIn?
You’re not being reached out because your profile isn’t great. It has nothing to do with your immigration status.
I literally work at one of the most desirable employers that recruiters check for when seeking new hires. Why do you think immigration status has no impact? It is a known barrier to hiring candidates. Many companies straight up won't sponsor.
You work at Amazon. It’s not a big deal to crack an interview there. Seriously.
Make sure to put in your resume if it’s an advantage for you (citizen or GC). It’s up to you to list it on resume if you need sponsorship. It may help to filter irrelevant recruiter calls, but also may result in screeners/HM to drop your candidacy long before interviews (even without giving you initial call).
I don't need sponsorship but I'm worried employers think I do because of my experience history
It might help. What’s to lose anyway
Do it discreetly. Like "eligible for federal security clearance" or "no immigration assistance required"
Yes,I mention it indirectly and tie it to the location preference eg: interested in remote roles and no visa sponsorship required.
Tell me you just got a green card without telling me.
Companies that don’t want the hassle of going through the sponsorship process would be glad to see you already have a green card.
No, 0 advantage.
Why do you think so?
I know so! What makes you think companies would give you more interview based on the fact you put that you are GC holder? They need value for the money they pay, your GC have 0 values to them
