EDIT: I signed with McKinsey. Thanks for all the input. The headline sounds like trolling, but hear me out. 3 YOE from military. I've received two job offers and am unsure which one to pick. 1. PwC management consulting (strategy & change) as senior associate with 1-year track to manager. 2. McKinsey as jr associate with prospect of becoming associate within 6-12 months. Totalt income first year and second year (with promotion) will be similar for both. I'm new to consulting and humbly ask for input.
McKinsey has better exit opportunities
McK *1000
Europe Mck is brutal hours wise... probably would still do it though over PWC tbh
Im ex PwC. Go to McKinsey. Better branding for sure.
PwC Dallas?
Mck hands down. At Google i see many more ex-mck than ex-pwc
Thanks for all the replies. For the relevant McKinsey office, I've learned that consultants work 9 am to 10/11pm on average Mon-Wed, 9 am to 8 pm on Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm on Fridays, and no work on weekends. Honestly doesn't seem to bad in my opinion.
Sounds like UK office - central European ones are much worse lol. Would just go with that in that case
Averages don't mean much at McK. I was with McK london and had many many studies where I worked 9 to past midnight Mon- Thu. It's true that you try to leave by 5-6pm on a Friday and no weekend work There was a digital implementation study where I used to finish by 6:30pm every day. But I was stuck in a shitty small town in the UK, so there wasn't really any point to finishing early
McKinsey. your field is all about name value
McKinsey
McK all the way.
This is for Europe, if anyone was wondering about my reference to PwC MC
