Hi! I have 1 year exp working in QA and 4 years as a escalations engineer. I would like to move to a more customer focused role and really found TAM and sales engineer roles intriguing. Would really appreciate if anyone here could share their experience or any advice on either of the two roles.
SE is a fantastic role. Best role at Microsoft. You will love it. Get to help customers w a lot of different scenarios. Every day is different. It can be very stressful at times but kind of reminds you of high school or college athletics. Lots of adrenaline for short bursts versus running a marathon on engineering projects that go on for 10times as long as you were interested in them.

SE role is good, as others have said, it has ups and downs.
We are constantly hiring TAMs. Good spot if you like long customer relationships. No layoffs here, customer facing and revenue producing and a direct catalyst for Azure consumption.
You clearly missed the fy19 info.
Lol. Oh yeah. That ppt that was right on msw.
