Amazon L5 vs Microsoft L64?
I've been in Amazon for around 5 months, so far terrible experience. Just landed an offer from Microsoft to be L64. Should I stay here and aim for a better team or move to MS? New offer is just an increase of about 10K yearly but with the perk of home office TC: 197K YoE: 9 years

MSFT is 100x better for the same money. Promo and benefits outweigh what Amazon has to offer. You probably get to design bigger systems at Amazon.
MSFT is definitely not 100x the better company overall even for the same money. But from a WLB perspective, it is. Unless it's Azure. Then it's as bad as Amazon but without PIP.

Both. Just discovered this app. I had no idea Amazon was this low ranked and MS was so high. All I heard was that FAANG was the way to go, etc. My bad for not researching before. Didn't want to make the same mistake

Microsoft is far from an amazing place to work in some areas. Mainly comp relative to other FAANG-tier, but there are some pockets of heinous management and the company is set up to really let them run rampant due to how few checks there are on them. So it's basically more the same corporate America. I would also choose Microsoft over Amazon every day even knowing what I know now having worked at both.
