I was having a conversation over dinner with a colleague from a different team. He mentioned to me Morgan Stanley plans to move away completely from ServiceNow to Atlassian in the future. He mentioned Jira's integration advantages with GitHub and a few other advantages. It's concerning to hear about Morgan Stanley's potential shift from ServiceNow to Jira. This raises questions about ServiceNow's future and whether competitors like Atlassian could start taking over its market share. As someone about to join ServiceNow, I'm curious about the company's prospects amidst this competition. I am a network engineer and 35 years old. I want to understand from the perspective that ServiceNow is a safe ship to jump into to sail for the next 5-6 years atleast. Preferably even longer. I feel I want to now stay at one place and grow there than keep hopping. Nobody on blind has the knowledge to answer your question, and you certainly won’t get valuable information going with a popularity vote.
Thanks
So you’re worried because your N of 1 sample size told you that a company is switching from NOW to Atlassian? Take a look at the recent earnings report. That’s a better way to gauge the situation.
Thanks
You don’t make decisions based on what a friend said about a service that he perceives based on one contract loss. You seem new to the hobby world . You read / hear earnings call and market futures / pivot on how the company ceo/ upper management talk about.
Thanks a lot. Makes sense
ServiceNow is a growing place. Congrats. What is the location ?
It's a remote persona. But, otherwise I am told the location is Bangalore.
Atlassian has tried to take business away from Servicenow and Salesforce Service Cloud for years, but they have failed. Just look at their earnings growth. Servicenow has advanced workflows and integrations. Maybe Salesforce but they missed the boat now ServiceNow is big and can out compete
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Appreciated.
We’re not looking for sailors, we’re looking for drivers.
Questioning yourself before taking any decision is a good thing.
Of course! You mentioned looking for a ship to sail for the next few years, which sounded a bit like coasting …..and our previous CEO used to always say we want drivers (not passengers). It was funnier in my mind.
