I never liked the company but after seeing their recent post on Twitter about making their insulin free I have nothing but respect.

Job security - reasonably good. WLB - heavily team/manager dependent. Good to awful. Engineering on site tends to be reasonable as shifts are set. Culture - mixed. Plants generally good, GBS/Business Centers is terrible. Salary and Bonus - average enough. Lilly isn’t a great company to pay. Promotions - mixed bag but slow to promote generally. Politics and Blame Game - plants are good but GBS/Business Centers are horrific. Stress Levels - generally ok as long as you can establish switching off when leaving, and leaving close to on time. Technical growth - slow. It’s not cutting edge outside of the medical R&D areas. Slow/Fast - depends on sector. Overall lilly isn’t bad in a lot of cases, it’s got really bad and really good. Decent name for your CV as it’s recognised. Did 2 years there and wouldn’t be rushing back but don’t regret working there too Lux either.

I worked for a few years for Lilly in a contract-based SWE role, at one of their corporate offices in the US. Overall, it was a medium-paced job, with good WLB and job security. The pay wasn't good though, as it was an LCOL location. Overall, it was a decent experience. Would be happy to go back to work for them again, if I get a good-paying offer from them in the future.
