Amazon background checks - what’s the standard process?
Amazon asked me only for my full name, Social Security number, and home address in the background check - using accurate background check company. They did not ask for my work history/job title or education history. The background check was completed couple of days . Is this the standard process? #amazon #tech #aws #interview #offer

Your work and education history all come up in the background check. They don't ask for it, because they'll get it anyway.

No. For Amazon they only do criminal background check. AWS takes it a bit further and asks you for employment history and education (and they do it yearly). More likely Op is in CDO and will only have criminal records check and it will be a one time thing. If it were AWS they’d ask for a lot more information
Yes it is standard process. Although, if I were you, I would have bigger things to worry about than a background check. Like, it being Amazon! I wish you have a competing offer and accept that instead. Amazon is not for good people.

Okay friend. I honestly wish you the best of luck and hope you get matched with one of the rare good teams we have. As far as background check is concerned, I lived in multiple places and had a dropped charge, the process took 4 weeks (court document in one country took longest time), but nothing came out and I was clean. Didn’t do any background check other than criminal (unless you’re aws they do a lot more, I would be worried if they did my employment check for the boss I punched in the face of (therefore the charge)).
