What internal tools do you use?
In Facebook we have workplace for posts, groups, and messenger for chats. Emails are rarely used. What tools do you use at your place? For project planing we have internal tools but each team select whatever they want. For docs we recently switched from Quip to G suit. Share your stack
The usual slack, confluence and Jira. Also have some home grown tools for self service deployment of micro services to the k8s clusters.
Slack for chat Splunk for log PagerDuty for chaos Google Sheets for spreadsheet Atlassian stuff for all developer stuff except repo Github for Repo Alcohol Corner for healing depression
So does it matter how many likes u get on a design doc?
Likes are sensitive topic. If your manager likes your post (or not) it means something. There's a lot of hidden office politics in the internal like system.
There are no design docs at Fb.
