I recently interviewed for a role and ended up not getting it. I was told however that the director I interviewed with was interested and would find other roles for me. I followed up with her because I had a verbal offer from a different company and wanted to see the other roles I’d be a fit for to fasten the interview process. But still haven’t gotten a response from the director and my original offer was rescinded due to the role closing. Should I follow up with the director?
What company was this
Reeks of bluff. And then take the other offer, i guess you got unlimited time to accept?
If you work in J&J IT (Commercial Technology, etc), take the other offer ASAP. The money will almost certainly be better and there’s really no future in IT with J&J. So much talent has left I wouldn’t be surprised when contractors outsource FT hires.
Yes follow up, but don't expect much. People just say that sometimes because they liked you and felt bad turning you down.
Or position got filled etc.
Better yet, you seek out other roles you’d be interested in, that may or may not be open. After you’ve applied/identified these roles, include them in your email to director. Ask her if she’d think you’d be a good fit and to introduce you the hiring manager for an interview. You’ll look much more proactive. Good luck. Give me a referral later in life.
