I have 3 offers from fintech companies as a Sr Software Engineer. Which one should I go with: Robinhood TC: 375 Chime TC: 390 Better.com TC: 320 YOE: 5 I am more inclined towards chime because of the culture and people.. Please can you add a reason with the vote? Valuation? Growth? Ipo? Tc? Culture? etc... #engineering #software
I voted better.com mostly because I’m biased. I don’t know about the cultures at the other companies but being someone whose career has been mostly FANG I haven’t found a company like better that fosters such an inclusive and employee focused culture while providing high growth opportunities and ability to really shape the consumer technology. Either way seems like you have a lot of good offers here. Congrats.
Thank u :)
Always put a pop corn option. I vote random to see results. No I don’t have patience to scroll and select view results.
From a stock upside perspective I think Robinhood might just beat chime because currently in secondary markets RH is already trading ~4-5x of the current valuation. I’m assuming your offer is at their latest public valuation. From a company culture perspective, having been a similar situation as yours, I’ll pick Chime. Having said that, I’m not saying Chimes valuation won’t grow. I personally believe we are a very stable business with a potential 3x upside to the current valuation. It’s just that at RH has available secondary market estimates and Chime does not.
Very good summary. Thank you very much :) Do you happen to know why Chime does not have a secondary market estimate?
4-5X the current valuation? Source and how recent? I’ve seen 3x here and there but no one has cited a reliable source north of 3x.
current offers are based on RH's last sept valuation (11.7B). secondary markets are trading RH at ~40B-50B i heard
I too just got a verbal offer from RH. May i DM you?
Not sure but valuations are a bit overrated
Source?
It would be a tough question to answer. I would personally pick Robinhood. Nothing wrong with Chime but Robinhood sounds more interesting right now. Chime might pay more but good work is somewhat team specific. I took a good salary bump to come here but the work here is a step down compared to where I was. But as I said, it’s highly team dependent and your mileage may vary
Hello I am evaluating an offer right now from Chime, mind if you could share which teams have good work in a DM?
Yea sure, feel free to DM me. I’m out of DMs
Congrats on the offers! 💫🍾 I'm struggling with similar choices. The big unknown is the future value of stock. I've decided to base my choice on which company I would most want to be a long term investor in (hold for 5 years 📈🚀). Whatever happens, no regrets! That said, I haven't made a choice 😂. Did you make a decision? If so, what was the deciding factor(s)?
At RH, Did you get assigned a number of shares or a dollar value and strike price?
Have few questions.. can I dm u?
