Afterwards (perf based) Chicago FB 120K base + 50K RSU/year + 100K signing return offer TC: ~300K, 190K afterwards Menlo Park Stripe 130K base + 75000 RSU/year + 50K signing TC: 270K first year, 230K afterwards ONE YEAR VESTING Which one should I take? A little bit concerned with Citadel culture/WLB But that TC is really good and COL is lower Also, is FB promotion process really that fast? Would love to know I am absolutely not a rest and vest type of guy, but I definitely would not want to kill myself over work. FB for better WLB than Citadel, fast growth, and better vesting strategy than Stripe
Citadel has 16 hour days, make sure you divide TC by 2 to get equivalent TC for FAANG

honestly, depends on your goal. Make quick bucks and rest&vest? Suffer at Citadel for several years. Don't care about retiring as soon as you can? Join FB
What about jumping from citadel to FB after a couple years for faster growth from senior and onwards? Would it be an uphill battle?
It's better to stay at Citadel as a senior because your bonus quickly grows into 7 digits if you are competent, but you are at Chicago and suffering from poor WLB. Join FB/Stripe if you just want a normal engineer life with excellent TC.

Is it difficult to get good level if external hire?
FB level upto incl E5 is easy to get and E6 you don't want unless you're ready, because expectations at E6 are very high.
