How can I land a corporate comms job in health tech or the tech industry without big tech experiences? Have about 10+ years in health care and communications spanning across major issues in the industry. Living and working in Washington, DC so lots of policy experience, working for major trade associations then for PR/public affairs agencies with federal, non profit and corporate clients. Was let go with a decent severance package from my boutique PR firm in June 2020 (business losses due to COVID) and have been freelancing for small time app developers … I want to go back to work full time but I’m struggling to land interviews at any major companies. Am I a lost cause because trade associations and federal clients make me kind of one-note? I’ve been struggling to land interviews even with employee referrals at Roche, Amazon, AWS, Microsoft, etc. Where else should I be looking? Any insight appreciated! #communications #pr #healthtech #amazon #microsoft #aws #roche #publicrelations
