What happened to Tivo?
I remember in high school when people used to Tivo (record) shows they missed...What happened to Tivo? Seems like there are people here who work for them...What are you folks up to these days? Have you caught up to the times?
A recruiter from TiVo contacted me a few months back. I had no idea they were still around and making new products.

Some local providers use TIVO as their set-top. I used RCN for cable in DC and loved having TIVO for my DVR. their user interface is still far superior to fios or Comcast
Hulu CTO and VP Product are ex-Tivo
I used to work at DIRECTV which had a contract with them for a DIRECTV TiVo box. I believe TiVO started focusing more on the European market. I haven’t worked with them in a long time, so haven’t followed any updates. But yeah, seems outdated in the States.
Still around still expensive, but now are splitting to make a patent troll and service provider. They failed to see how they really needed to get into the cable cos early and offer a DVR license through them and they failed early at catching cord cutters to save ota and streaming movies to disk.
Their tech became commoditized. Cable companies were able to provide DVR directly into their boxes. Now with streaming you don’t even need DVR Edit: are you just trolling?
