Does Mapbox pay competitively compared to big companies such as Google, Facebook, Uber, Lyft, etc.? How much can you expect to get for a lead engineer position?
Tesla nav also runs off Mapbox
I don't think they do. I was offered a mobile dev position, 10 yeo, about 200k TC (165k base) for SF.
That’s very low. Was it recent? From what I read, current Mapbox valuation is around $400m. If someone gets $35k of stock today, that’s nothing.
In March. They offered very low equity, around 10k worth then...I was very disappointed.
No they don’t. They only pay to the people who say “yes sir” and make no sense what so ever. There is no management skill there it’s just insecure people and managers who just need one chance to take your idea and run it up the chain. It’s a overhyped product with poor quality.
No salary it equity is worth going there. Toxic immature jerks at the helm. Find anywhere else.
Are you still at mapbox? Has it changed?
Unfortunately it has not changed.
What the fuck is Mapbox?
It’s a map provider company like google maps that companies like tinder, Snapchat, doordash, etc use :P
Why wouldn't they just use Google maps?
