Been looking to get some experience to break into cyber so the role I’m looking at is pretty entry as the come. Is this a good place to work? TC: 110k YOE: 5
Avoid Kaseya like the plague. Absolutely the worst company I have worked for. It is a glorified boiler-room call centre selling softwares that are either outdated, inadequate or plain useless. They have acquired companies through some shady strategies (Datto being the most famous one) and have severely ruined all the products. Absolutely zero engineering culture. Everything is focused on cut-throat sales and the compensations are real lousy. Their account managers are forced to call the customers almost regularly to sell other Kaseya products, but the same customers get horrible support. Just take a look at Reddit posts about Kaseya and you'll know what I am talking about. Trust me when I say that the smartest one have left the company, the smart ones are figuring out their exit, and the naive ones are buying into Kaseya's promise of turning them into millionaires (yes that's a real thing internally). Now why am I telling you about sales at Kaseya when you are looking at the tech/IT side of things? Because this is a hypersales company. Tech people have no respect here and are only hired to pick up the breadcrumbs left by the exit of good tech people and the botched up acquisitions by Kaseya. Avoid this company. A lot of us wish we heeded to this advice.
Wow—that’s nuts. Thanks for the heads up.
Can you explain what you mean by "shady strategy"?
Don't believe what disgruntled former employees say, come see it for yourself. If you interview, speak with the hundreds of happy employees, some who have been promoted several times in a short timeframe. ...and Yes, contrary to what beermonday say, Kaseya has produced well over 100 millionaires and will continue to do so over the years, many under 35 .
Lol
No 401k Match (that alone is enough reason to run). Low pay compared to industry standards. Benefits are very expensive, and bad plans even then. Avoid at all costs.
Depends on if its relevant work to your security goals. Better than nothing.
