Hi Blind! I'm trying to collect a few data points for mid-level management positions in software engineering in Toronto. I'm having a hard time telling recruiters my salary expectations because some of the ranges I've seen are super low and some are super high. For the purpose of this post, Director is the one managing managers, multiple teams. All dollars are Canadian. Here's what I know so far - TD Bank. Senior Manager. 167k base, 18% bonus = 197k OTE plus equity - A series B/going into series C startup 175-225 OTE (base+20% bonus) plus equity - HBC 170-180 total?! (Private company, no equity). They flinched, whether genuinely or not, at 200+ sticker - Ceridian 222k OTE (base +20%) plus 40k USD RSU + 15k signing bonus - this is the offer I got. Edit: 222 is OTE: 185 base + 20% - Fintech startup 240-270k base, plus bonus and equity - Seed stage FutureFit.ai 120-140 (but apparently large chunk of equity) Would be interested in gathering more data points and opinions. YoE: 14 years in tech, 8 years managing engineers, 1 year managing managers #directorcompensation #directorlevel #director #directorsalary
Hey, your package at Ceridian seems pretty good. Never heard about they offer such high base.
For director? Hm 🤔
Is the Fintech startup offer from a US Fintech company? That's a great base salary.
The recruiter said "one of the fastest growing Canada startups." I didn't get into details as I was in the final stages with Ceridian and wasn't considering startups due to WLB
