So, i got an offer from company A and accepted and did not reveal it to my current employer B while I gave my 2 week notice. I am owed a flight back to my home country for me and my family. Can I avail this as I am planning to visit my family at the end of the year anyway? Is it ethical or legal to book a ticket now to not raise any flags and then re schedule it to end of year (i pay the reschedule fee to airlines)?#tech
Completely unethical
Go for it
Why are you like this? You must be getting a good joining bonus anyways so just shell out that $1000 and be in peace brother.
Lmao ur wild. Keep going
H1-B flight home doesn't apply when you quit. If you got laid off, yes. https://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/us-immigration/what-happens-employee-h-1b-work-permit-quits.html > Under U.S. immigration regulations at 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(E), employers must pay the reasonable costs of transporting H-1B workers back to their home country. However, if the employee quits, the employer is NOT responsible for paying these costs.
Yeah, I was wondering how a company is owes a flight back on quitting.
Do they owe for flight if I get laid off but have I140?
You are owned a flight back only it company lays you off or fires you. Not if you quit on your own accord
What a cockroach 😂
No harm in asking them
