I left @Qualcomm 2 months ago and joined @Apple. I used to work for a core team in Qualcomm and had a low TC. My manager mostly used me on least important assignments and all the good assignments went to my peers. So, I did not had any motivation to work here. I received a rating of 3 for AR18, AR19 and AR20. I had no complaints, maybe it wasnt working out. I did not see there was much opportunities for growth. I was able to interview with Apple, who made an offer with TC 35% more than Qualcomm TC. I was happy and gave them a notice period, saying I'm joining Apple. Now, they(manager, director, VP) tried hard to keep me and offered to match Apple offer to retain. It felt very fishy, I couldn't trust them and left them. Qualcomm, if you really want to retain employees, improve the compensation of your employees before they leave, not after they give notice period. Well said!
What a bargain for Apple. Labor is cheap in SD
It’s sad to see how apple down levels you with high yoe. What’s the criteria for ict4?
Yeah, they weren't ready to give ICT4. TC is a lot better than what I was getting, so I don't care
What did they say about ict4? I had a similar experience with them
Apple down leveled you as well
What’s the criteria for ict4? Does it also depend on the interview?
Yes it depends a lot on interview
Good to know that someone tried to negotiate. In my case, No one from QC even tried to stop me.
170 TC with that experience is bs! You deserve much more
Unfortunately, this happens a lot in many companies including the Big 4 and Accenture. I’ve been with Accenture for 4 years, my first year salary is $160k and 4 years later only at $173k. I’m a top performer for every year except 2020 due pandemic. If you average out 4 years, the increase is only around 3%/yr which is equal to inflation rate. I’m planning to leave the firm early next year.
3% per year is not bad at all and very common to my understanding. But your numbers don’t add up. 160k to 173k in 4 years is 2% per year growth.
