Qualcomm offer

Hi all, I recently got an offer for an analog position at qualcomm. Yoe MS+1.5 Engineer title, location SD Base: 110k RSU: 40k/3 Bonus: 10%-20% of base + 15k RSU And my current TC is 125k out of California I kind of doubt the bonus could not be such high and thus the TC is a little low. Could I ask for more RSU and some signon? Please advise. ------------------------------- Updates: Rsu: 100k/3 Signon:30k For my experience level and considering I am slightly changing tech area, I probably cannot get a senior title by this moment. I feel the new offer is not bad for engineer level. #qualcomm #hardware

Ask for 135 base, and some amount of joining bonus.

Is this a Senior Engineer role?

Analog Devices ritian OP Feb 27, 2022

It is an Engineer role.

Qualcomm grammatic Feb 27, 2022

If you’re currently in a LCOL area, it doesn’t make sense to switch with such a minor difference in TC. San Diego rent for a decent 1bed apartment is $2500+. Your promotion to Senior will be minimum 2-3 years away as well. Try to ask for Senior Engineer role. Qualcomm recruiters are infamous for not negotiating but it’s still worth a try.

Qualcomm phoenix07 Feb 27, 2022

Ask for signon bonus

Qualcomm prtn9 Feb 27, 2022

Don't join this shit hole

AMD qCpK87 Feb 28, 2022

Any particular reasons why?

Qualcomm ifykwim Mar 1, 2022

Please don’t join, the inflation in San Diego is crazy. Even if you share an apartment the expenses come around $2k. Cannot live here working for qualcomm. Try for other companies, I’m sure you will get a better job

Qualcomm poomex Feb 27, 2022

Bonus is expected 10-15%. At 2 YOE my base is also 110k. I am core modem Sw. Not sure how it’s for analog teams. Ask for sign on bonus and negotiate little more on RSU.

Qualcomm ARwm31 Feb 28, 2022

Not worth it. San Diego is expensive.

Qualcomm HipsterEng Feb 28, 2022

I usually see MS get Sr Eng role, I was BS new grad and got Eng

MS + 1.5 YoE is Senior?

Qualcomm PlBw63 Feb 28, 2022

WLB, too many deployment chips - too little feature ownership, meetings at odd times due to teams in other countries

AMD El🤓n Musk Feb 28, 2022

Base is very weak for senior imo. Sr. Base was about $110k about 10 years ago when I used to be in SD office
