YOE: 7 Base: 110k RSU:60k over 3 years Signing bonus: 25k + reloc extra around 8k Location: Boulder Position: senior software engineer Base seems pretty low. Suggestions ?
That seems very low
Yeah. I already make 105k base so seems pretty low. I have asked the recruiter to work more on base. Let's see how it goes.
In line with the other offers I heard at the title. Annual refreshers could be 30k+ US$ with a 3 year vest - there is also a possibility of 10+ % of base as bonus ... Adding all of them TC would be 160k first year incl signoff, 160k second year and 170k third year
I am yet to receive an official offer and recruiter gave me a 'ballpark'. Tbh, Boulder doesn't look cheaper than where I am right now. Any suggestions what has better chances of negotiation? Base, rsu, signoff?
Signoff is easy to negotiate. Base is possible only if you can establish that you aren't getting a lot of hike. There is a band for each title, normally new hire offers are made at entry point of the band unless you can convince them otherwise.
I suggest you to wait until you get a concrete offer and you know your interview outcome
I increased my offer by a 100k+. So anything is possible but I was also making more than they were offering and had a specific skill set. You're getting a 15% increase plus better refreshers etc. Not sure how much they are going to come up.
Base bump is less than 5%
How much did the final negotiation come upto.
Still negotiating. Will post back when I have the final numbers.
Final offer: 124k base. 35k bonus and 60k RSUs vesting over 3 years.
Any tips on negotiating. The HR seems to just say - this is the max this team pays for this role and there are other folks with same experience earning similarly.
I am already making very close to their initial offer so told the recruiter that. I countered with 130k and she said that she can go with 124k max and bump up the signing bonus to cover the rest. However, recruiter also accepted that initial offer was low because they coded my position as general software engineer but actually it falls under premium category so it didn't take much convincing from me.
A little low but Colorado kinda pays shit. Good for boulder tbh.
