expecting a offer and looking for some data. Asked recruiter 350k total comp(220k base + 130k stk) 50k one time sign on, he said he will get back to me. 13yrs of experience in embedded field. Appreciate if anyone can share any data.
Yeah i am also thinking the same
I think Principal Eng get ~ $200k base. But yeah overall they are not gonna even come close to those numbers
Qualcomm can not give you that much.
Sr staff makes about 250. I can only see them offering you a principal role that can pay that much.
In non-bay area, sr stuff in Qualcomm only gets less than 200k I believe.
I guess there will be variance but I was staff in non Bay area and making close to 200k. Sr staff new offer should be able to reach 250k
Thank you qualcomm folks for sharing the insight i doubt I will get principal though. But its a shame the hard core semis dont pay well.
are you seriously leaving Google for Qualcomm
Yeah i wont unless they pay
Well i may if i get Qualcomm pays.
I got an offer for Sr Staff after negotiation: base $180k, sign on $40k.
how's about RSU. is this for Bay Area
RSU 80k, Bay.
Why are you leaving google for Qualcomm?
This. Why? No reason to do this
Want to do more core technology work
If you are joining one of modem/graphics/camera, I think their paybands were increased due to market pressure/attrition. Another thing to note is that the main/important teams are hardware and systems within Qualcomm.
Yeah. Hardware and Systems definitely make the dough. We SW eng make like shit.
Thanks for chipping in.. my team is part if connectivity in Bay area.

You’re not going to get anything close to that with Qualcomm.
