I need advice on TC since I am new to US pay standard. I am internally transferred in Mentor Graphics from Bangalore India to Bay Area as Quality Engineer. I have Bachelors degree in CS with 9 years of experience. (8 years in India and 1 year in US) Now in this condition I am not sure how much I should be expecting my total compensation to be. Currently they have transferred me internally without any perks. 141k Base + 8% variable of base pay. I believe it’s way less than what is should be. Could you guys please help me that what expectations I should have regarding my TC?? #offer #tech #semiconductor #mentorgraphics #cadence #synopsys #hardware
It's hard to say which numbers are worse. Indian compensation seems on the lower end with respect to your experience. Comparatively, US compensation is much better (4.5x). If you are moving with family you have to be careful with your cost of living but I see no reason you cannot manage. See if they can bump to 150k and add some relocation assistance or RSUs
