How're people here getting interviews with quant trading firms? I keep on getting the auto rejection emails without even a recruiter or technical screen So far seen this from Jane Street, HRT, Jump, Vatic and Cubist I figured having Citadel on my resume might help me a little but I can't even get a call with these guys Do people here have tips how to break into these firms? #hedgefund #trading #engineering #quantdev
That’s super odd. Citadel should normally help without breaking a sweat. You should have tried through a good headhunter, but unfortunately since you applied already, the headhunter applying wouldn’t help now. There are other good places you haven’t applied to, Old Mission, Aquatic, Headlands, Radix, Optiver, Five Rings, PDT. My advise is to link up with a good headhunter and have them represent you at these places. Are you a C++ dev at Citadel? Getting a vibe that you are not.
How do you find a good headhunter?
If you’re already at a trading firm, then through friends at your firm and friends at other firms, you get that info. Outside trading, it’s tough.
Were/are you an intern or FTE at Citadel?
FTE
Maybe they are afraid of the non-compete.
We don't interview candidates who actively apply to Jane Street. It's called avoiding adverse selection.
Lol good to know. What's the preferred method to receive candidates apps then - headhunters?
I can’t tell if this is a troll answer. If this is true why even have an application portal to begin with 😂
These firms are looking for C++ dev.
Being a Python quant dev, have you considered moving into a pod at a multi-strat?

What do you think the Fed will do tomorrow?
Usually it’s internal referrals. Try Tower Capital I heard it’s easier to interview there
