Do you live in perpetual fear that your job can be outsourced since it’s remote ? And do you folks think remote jobs are more precarious than on site or hybrid ones?
Will say there’s no false sense of security unlike onsite jobs.
What made you think your office job won’t get offshored. Factory workers were one of the first ones to go, you genius. 😅
I think they can outsource my 380k TC for 200k in India to find someone legit enough who speaks English and has the talent, although there aren't enough of them for demand so they will probably keep paying me for awhile. It's funny how some people think companies can low ball Indians for 50k and have them not be counter productive on the apps
No not really. At this point if that did happen I'd simply apply to another remote role somewhere else. Smart companies are realizing that remote is here to stay and I think after the CML real estate problems subside it will become the norm. Too many people prefer it over in office and if companies want talent they're going to need to offer it (that's not considering the cost savings of not having to have an office bldg in the first place etc.)
No. I've tried to hire people in India. We eventually had to move the reqs to higher cost labor market geo because there were no candidates who were able to deliver the mix of technical and soft skills needed for the specific roles.
Not true. There are zero guarantees that onsite jobs are secure. I wish luck to all clowns thinking that outsourcing is a magical way to cut the cost and keep the proper quality. Many companies tried and… failed. Simple jobs can (and are) be transferred but the rest… Colleagues from South East Asia have huge problems with communication and deliver working solutions on time…
And introduce problems into the code that Americans have to go back and fix
Exactly. This is insane… many times code quality is a ridiculous joke. They never have any questions, everything is clear… and then… catastrophe… you ordered a hippo and they delivered a dog with three paws which miaows and not barks.
No.
