Car accident at my fault, how to avoid paying the damages?
I received a verbal offer for Microsoft within Azure for L67. I check levels but just want to get a baseline of people here on what they think of the numbers and how does L67 compares to across other companies. Base: 270k RSU: 800 over 4 years Signon: 200k over 2 years Annual total (base + rsu): 470k Note: i am not a C# or .Net developer (more of node, java, Python dev with aws) so that will be a big adjustment. How does L67 compare to other companies. E.g is this same as senior staff at google and meta in terms of scope? Comp definitely seems low compared to similar levels on levels.fyi. Any suggestions for negotiation? Anyone have any info on culture or atmosphere at microsoft? Has layoffs changed any of the culture at MS? Should I stay at my startup that has a potential chance of an exit in near time (tc would probably jump to 700k but that's if there is an exit rather than another round of funding)? Or should I keep interviewing since levels.fyi shows other companies pay at least 700k (meta over 1m) for L7? How is WLB at other companies? Or should I take MS offer? (I am looking to get better wlb and less stress as I want to start family planning in the next year) Current tc: 230 Thanks in advance #tech #microsoft #aws #amazon #azure #google #alphabet #meta #facebook #apple #netflix #uber #linkdedin Update: MS closed the req after confirming dragging to send docs for weeks costing me opportunities with other teams.
Just take it, that’s my dream offer
Take it and coast with unparalleled WLB
Take it and interview for sr staff at other high paying companies a few years latter
How long after onsite did you get the decision & offer? How was the onsite like? Congrats! About to have an onsite @ Microsoft
They take their time. Definitely took me multiple months and I only have verbal so far.
Well, congrats on the offer! I would ask for higher sign on and base. This offer looks more L66 than L67. Microsoft is very WLB friendly from all I’ve read
l67 is going to be brutal. Make no mistakes. Partner is a coveted position and you'll not get there. Principal bands has a lot of people so too much competition plus 3 internal levels. You'll be compared for life timers. Is that worth 470k? You could rather do a easy E5 or L5 elsewhere and earn the same
Can you explain the brutal part?
I was an L5 at Amazon years ago and I am the lead principal for a start up. Both have been brutal which is why I am looking at MS for wlb. But you seem to indicate that the MS wlb image is different now. Is that correct?
Is it engineering and is the location Seattle? How many years of experience do you have
Annual bonus is in the range of 80k so it’s not a small amount for op
Don’t you have bonus at least 15%?
Have to factor in bonus in your annual bonus in your TC calc
I just did base and rsu as that is recurring and bonus drops off after 2 years
Annual bonus should be 30% of base at 100% target. It’s separate from sign on.
