It already is the norm
Helping your employees grow into another role doesn't need a buzzword name like "quiet hiring"
That's been the norm for 50+ years. Not sure why everyone is making up new terms for mundane shit all of a sudden.
This is how Gen Z is they come up with a new phrase to describe what’s already there and thing they did something Like cancel instead of boycott
Quiet quieting will be the norm
At Dell the adjustment has been “focus on projects that have short ROI time horizons”. So people have been moved around to different projects. But the idea you can take a Marketing person and have them do Engineering work isn’t considered. Also, the idea you can make do with existing personnel without backfilling will backfire. You ask the existing workforce to do more, then they will, justifiably, want more compensation. When businesses refuse to share the profits they are making, employees will leave and thus drive up wages.
Alright, I’ve updated it Blind Police :)
