I have worked hard and saved enough money to travel around the world for a year or so, I get my last large RSU in about a month. Here is my checklist so after a year I can find a new L5 dev job (at amazon or somewhere else) Update LinkedIn Work hard and be friendly until the last day Look at new health insurance coverage Network, take old amazon co workers out for coffee Look at old wikis to remember everything I’ve done and update portfolio Write resignation email Burned all personal days and sick days (I have a few vacation days left which they will pay me for) Is there anything I’ve missed? Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks !

Key addition would be explicitly mention to your manager that you want to come back in a year. Also, if you have a long tenure then ask for sabbatical.

Look into COBRA health coverage. Expensive, but way better than most public options. If you need to buy stuff from amazon for travel, do it while you still get your crappy discount, if any of it is left.
Amazon discount lasts until the end of the calendar year, even if you leave the company
