Hey, just curious what the engineering experience is like? I worked at travelers but it was a snail pace, lot of back and forth between product and data teams. Lot of politics but people were nice. Specifically if any of you work at Evernorth or Evicore. What is pay like too? I see Band 4 and band 5 but the salary ranges are huge, 100k to 200k. I have 9 YOE. Do they offer sign on bonus and/or rsu? Also what's bonus structure like post covid? #cigna Thanks in advance! YOE: 9
Most teams do 2 weeks sprints. I was surprised to find Evernorth teams working in startup pace with lot of technolgy experiments (relative to other health care companies)
I used to work for Kaiser, so my comparison may be skewed😂
Where were you looking at salary bands? I find it fairly fast paced. I like that though. There are some people who get away with doing very little. Experience is really team and manager dependent. Really dig into the team you’re joining and be sure their work is what you want to do.
Some of the job listings have the band # and a range.
Pace varies by manager. If your manager seems not very bright then it's probably a pretty slow boring team. For the good teams, I wouldn't call it startup pace, but quicker than your average fortune 500
Cool, glad to hear. The startup I'm at now is like 9-9pm and then emails till 12am everyday, I'm so over it lol. I see people pushing code at 1230am. Definitely not the life for me. Travelers was like 3 stories a sprint type of deal, much slower.
Honestly things move so slowly it's maddening compared to a smaller or less dysfunctional company. Things are also really in flux because of a new CIO. Best to look elsewhere until the situation improves.
I'd love to know more about the flux part, seems like they are hiring quite a bit, lot of reorganizing? Layoffs?
Yes. High level people being walked to the door as part of the house cleaning. It's not always a bad thing but it's pretty damn uncomfortable right now.
I work at eviCore - pay is fine, I’m around $150K TC. No RSU, you could negotiate signing bonus (I was able to in 2020). Bonus is a percentage based on band (mine is 15%). Love working here, WLB is fantastic and we work with some dope tech.

Bonus structure for band 4 at Evernorth is 15% of base and its variable. Engineering experience is dependent on the team.. Most teams have good wlb and good pace. No rsu. Sign on bonus, you can negotiate for.
Thanks, how fast is the dev cycle, lots of places do 2 week sprints but they can be slow or breakneck startup pace. If you know off hand.
RSUs are available for top performers.
