RIP EPiC VMware shutdown
Last year, my entire family was looking forward to the EPIC shutdown, now I have to worry about my younger kids being left at home as I need to prepare for a meeting on campus at 9 AM I miss being treated like a VMware employee. I really miss how we were treated like humans. I don’t know how to describe my role- yes ma’am yes sir head down, keep a low profile and throw the blame on whoever I can blame. As tempting the RSUs might be for my transition period, I’m regretting accepting it and this dooming I’m sending my manager a note to let him know I have COVID so I can stay in this week.
Actually just take time off. Don’t lie about medical issues specially the ones which are tracked by the govt.
I can’t, manager would reject it. As for COVID, they are not tracking these cases, I know- the data sits in a folder and nothing is being done about. Email was sent, no other choice but lying to stay at home.

1) I understand missing the VMware shutdown at EOY 2) Why on earth would you tag @VMware that you’re lying about having COVID in order to miss work for the week? That’s a key detail you should not be sharing on a public forum, especially one that your manager may be using. After all, I may be your manager, and I may be bringing this up at our next one-on-one

For COVID, they ask positive test report if you need to wfh... For sick leave, more than 2 days requires medical docs.
