Have an upcoming second round Spotify interview. Anyone had experience with this? Or any tips for me?
Tbh Spotify interviews are easy from a technical standpoint. Just make sure you come across as a good culture fit and give the impression that you would be a good coworker - worth calling out because it’s easier said than done.
This is true.
Did you get the interview kit from your recruiter? Check out Glassdoor for possible questions
No interview kit 😓
This is what I got from them after a call with recruiter, mind you I had 2 years of experience. “The first tech interview will cover the following areas: Project and technical background discussion You should prepare for a discussion about a recent project, where you'll talk in-depth about some technical work you've done (it can be either a commercial or personal project). We recommend that you are able to explain it in a way that a technical person without knowledge of the domain or the specific technologies and libraries used could understand. We'd also love to hear about any key learnings you made from the project. Domain questions We have a variety of questions with varying difficulties. We want to find the areas you are good at, not dwell on the concepts you haven't worked with. So if you feel like a topic is unfamiliar or too hard, we can always move on to a different question. Coding exercise We use a tool called CoderPad.io so I would take a minute to check that out if you have not used it before. The interview is language agnostic so you can pick the programming language of your choice. Some advice to you: Start simple and then expand. Most often it’s best to come up with a simple solution and then go from there. Don’t hesitate to ask for help if something’s unclear or if you get stuck - that’s what the interviewers are there for! Finally, think out loud! Communication is important in order for the interviewers to understand your thought process, so speak your mind and motivate your choices.” Valid as of Jan 2022
It’s easy
Can I ask how your first interview went? Have a first round tomorrow and am curious
if the questions are easy, lets say an easy questions, 80% candidates able to solve it, only 20% failed. how do they choose who to onsite, who not?
Just because it’s easy doesn’t mean people do well. It’s more than solving the problem. Communication skills, quality of solution, etc. Also, they index heavily on culture fit from what I can tell
Has anyone done the case study interview and can talk more about it? I have onsite on Friday. I don't currently use linux commands at work and don't know how much I should try to learn?
Be a likeable person :)
