Seriously, no C-Suite people are providing any real data to back up the need for RTO. In fact, WFH data shows workers are more productive. This is purely an ego thing from C-Suite people. They need to feel like they are powerful. They can’t get that sitting at home. They need workers seeing them in person to get that high. This is purely an ego thing. They can’t stand that workers below them are living great lives and getting to live at home or travel the world while working. That is something only higher ups are allowed to do. If you get to do it too, then that takes the feeling of superiority away from them on that topic. What do you all think?

Database companies that pay well for Staff SWE
Sounds about right
Sounds like something GM would do.
This is 100% true. RTO will happen because one party is more powerful than the other. remote work is great for the economy as dollar spending is spread out and population can participate in local matters and local government more easily.
To that point, companies are able to do this right now because of less job opportunities in the corporate world currently due to possibly upcoming recession / if it’s here. Long term, when economic conditions improve, RTO will loosen as employers once again have to fight for talent.
Isn't this more of a middle management thing? I don't think c suite generally cares that much but middle management now has nothing to do if they can't micromanage / make the rounds.
No way, this is a C level decision
Lol no. This is C suite level. Middle managers power mostly ends out of their department. RTO policies are site wide and company wide choices, and all those come from C suite level positions.
Also companies reduce their office space it reduces property taxes and affects near by businesses. Socialists CA wants more taxes from everyone. Aka not good for economy my a$$
Eh. As someone who has the option to be remote, I’d say it is better experience when you go in the office. You meet more people, and build rapport better.
It's all about the trust and the company culture. If they want full rto they don't trust you . Better GTFO
Hybrid too though. All this is the same thing. It’s an ego issue. This has NOTHING to do with work or making things better.
