Lack of diversity in engineering division at X
Is this a trend in other companies?
In what way?
So I could get into details for the people in my team (not sure how idiosyncratic they are) but as a manager I see the composition of the teams under me getting more homogeneous as the RTO gets pushed harder
RTO benefits the historically privileged groups meanwhile it closes doors for people with disabilities, single parents and other underrepresented sections of society. Read somewhere about how thought invoking it is that people in support of RTO and openly claiming drawbacks of WFH belong to the conventionally privileged class such as rich white male CEOs.
Then it's probably increasing meritocracy and that would explain why companies like it.
Lol… must be a republican who is programmed to write meritocracy everywhere.
The problem with measuring merit is that it is very hard to decouple from the confounding variables of wealth, privilege, economic situation, etc.. The only people that think they can measure it are themselves privileged and blind to it
Lmfao sounds like some dei hires had to return to reality
