Amazon or Coinbase
I posed a similar post last week but the circumstances have changed Amazon (AWS SDE 2) 1st year comp 334k$ (second year is 298, third and forth 263) Coinbase (Bison Trails IC5 Senior SDE) 345k$ a year consistent (170k$ base, 175k$ stocks) Both positions are remote (I live in Atlanta) Previously, I would have had to relocate to Arlington for AWS. Now, they're offering a remote position for the same TC The main things that make it a hard decision for me are 1) brand recognition 2) crypto less stable than cloud/retail 3) AWS might be more stressful but also better learning experience (I think) Current TC ~140k YOE ~5 #engineering #swe #sde #amazon #coinbase #software

That's the impression I got from interviewing and talking to people online. Could be false
I interviewed at coinbase 2 weeks ago, everyone said the culture is "intense" and upper management said something about how they expect people to work 50/55 hours or something. They are an Amazon wannabe.

I’m former AWS. Coinbase. Way better upside. Better comp. Any culture is better than Amazon lol. Sure you could end up on an “amazing” team w/ incredible management at AWS but you’re one re-org away from mental health challenges.
