For org of 2000, 100 were laid off. It happened to all orgs. Just cleaning the whole house. I would say 5-10% reduction of force as of now. Reason was given that roles were eliminated, but majority of roles laid off were Engineers. šš¤·š¼āāļø
What org(s)?
Marketing, Enterprise Technology Solutions, Digital, Network Tech (pretty much all)
Anyway their service is pretty bad in Bay Area ā¦. so š
Service is terrible! Even in metropolitan areas. Every time I see 5G UC I know Iām fucked
What does the severance package look like?
Just employees or contractors too ?
Havenāt heard of contractors being laid off. At least all contractors in my team are still in todays meetings.
Thatās weird TBH.
My old org laid off 30% of its group last week from what a dev told me. Left TMO many years back but the layoffs don't surprise me from the updates that a Sr. Eng and Principal Eng have told me over the last couple years. It's sad but there was a lot of redundancy caused by the merger a couple years back.
Redundancy, duplicating work was the name of the game in tmobile. How does a company run with a nocc full of idiotic managers and never works with ntac. Trust ... bs and mamby pamby sensitive bs about this and that.
Are they still doing that trust camp with covey?
Itās good to know they will put those layoff savings to work: https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/t-mobile-pays-304m-fill-holes-its-25-ghz-spectrum Itās too bad they had to destroy peopleās lives to get there. But, hey, they are Un-Carrier.
Unfortunate, since it seems T-Mobile gets breached every month.
The team iām on beefed up security a LOT since our last one.
I can attest to my fellow TMO colleague. I doubt any future breaches will happen with new systems being built, they have taken last one very seriously.
