I love the Presidio, and now with remote work, I’m considering moving there. (I know you can’t buy - just rent.) Curious to hear from any current or former Presidio residents about what you liked and what you didn’t! Thanks in advance :) #bayarea
I did it a while back. If I could sum it up: fun but weird in my 20s, probably better with a family. Pros: - You live in a National Park with all the trails, historical stuff, land marked views, and all the outdoor activities - Some houses are truly amazing, with great architectural detail and big yards - Lots of families who seemed to have a cool community - Pretty good access to downtown SF, very easy access to Marin Cons: - Gonna need a car for each adult in your house unless you want to buy fancy ebikes for mobility - Many houses really suck - Management company hired by the Trust is terrible and evil - Weather is frigid and foghorns are really loud - Eating and drinking establishments look cool at first but easy to get sick of them - Few will visit you unless you give them a good reason
Upstart stock appreciation and presidio goes hand in hand
Are you rich?
I’m talking about living in the Presidio itself - last time I checked it was reasonably affordable for what you get! Definitely in the neighborhood surrounding it’s waaaay out of my budget
You mean inside the park?
