I'm a 25 year old Rajesh working as a Consultant in AWS but in a first world country in Europe. I am L4 right now (2 YoE). I want to leave the country I am in as soon as possible but have no idea which country will accept me. It is tough getting promoted to L5 as my last perf review didn't go so well. I am open to quitting AWS but would preferably want a job that would allow me to save about 25K a year. It sounds amazing to move to the US, particularly east coast, even with the high CoL as I have friends there and have many social prospects. However, I don't know how I would do so as it is difficult to get a job in the US as a foreigner. I have close family in Canada, and they may be able to sponsor a green card for me to move there someday, but whether that's next year, or in 5, idk. Also, finding a job is another question, because I heard that's much tougher even for Canadians. I would love to work in a Latin American country, but based on what I've seen there are super long working hours compared to what I do now for much less money. Same goes for India. I am currently applying for jobs in all of the above, but am curious what my options are, realistically. Is my only option to stick it out for another 2+ years, get promoted and then ask for an internal transfer? I really don't want to be here another second. Is there another country that I haven't considered that I can try moving to for work? What's my best bet? Please select everything below that's a viable option for me. Thanks! TC - 90K
Were you born in India or the EU country you live in ? If it's the latter, you should have no issues with immigration.
If you were not born in India then US would be amazing for you from immigration perspective
The green card depends on country of birth and not passport
Your best bet is get to L5 and do international transfer or get a masters in US/Canada. No company is going to sponsor 1 yoe.
Thanks for your input! That is not what I want to hear but probably what I need to hear right now. I already have a master's so I guess I know what my only option is...
Switzerland is the best place for Indians these days.
I am surprised. Isn't it full of xenophobic white people who don't want immigrants? Would they have a jobs for me?
Google Zurich?
What folks forget is that career is a long game.
While that may be the case, my aim here isn't career but a nice life.
No career no nice life.

hahaha, latinos say I look latino tho

is Rajesh here used as a proper noun or common noun.
Common
OP’s father is also a Rajesh. OP’s mother is also a Rajesh right OP?
Most western world countries would not sponsor a 1YOE guy of any type of person, generally speaking, but I think if you apply to a larger Japanese company like Mercari that uses more English than Japanese and are willing to move to Tokyo or Fukuoka, this is not entirely impossible. Working hours tend to be a bit long, but let's face it - the US works you longer and more like dogs.
P.S. As I am amused by your QoL comments, I will add southern posts such as that in Fukuoka will have more darker-ish skinned local women than the more north in the country you post (Tokyo, esp. Hokkaido, etc.)
First of all, have a bit of decency to call yourself Indian rather than the herd behaviour of Blind calling Indians as “Rajesh”. Good luck.
Lmaooooo it wasn't heard behavior that prompted this. I figured that by using Rajesh I'd get more engagement on this post since historically Rajesh posts get more views.
Real Rajesh got offended
Why not just move to India
Why don't you move to India? I'm considering it but if the compensation there is much worse comparatively then there's no point.
The compensation vs job stability vs market equations are favorable in India right now. BTW, I am in India.
Very self aware for you to call yourself a rajesh. Humour and humility will take you far in life! Try London, you can come across from Calais to Dover in a rubber dinghy and the government will give you house and money 👍
Why did I not do that?!! I went through the legit route of work visa. Damn missed out on a fun opportunity.
Hahaha, thank you for your kind words! I used to live in London actually, but I don't necessarily want to live there either due to the astronomical CoL and QoL for younglings there is relatively low I've experienced (and is what the stats say).
