I think this was doomed from the start. My only regret is that I didn't pull out of the interview sooner. What a waste of time and energy. Y'all, stay away from OCI, it's where good software engineers go to die 1. Recruiter stood me up for our first meeting 2. Hiring manager and recruiter called me about the same role, clearly no communication between them 3. Out of all the interviews I had (1 phone screen + 5 onsites), 4/6 had technical problems with not knowing how to use Hackerrank or audio issues. Couldn't understand the accent from 2 people 4. Interview with hiring manager started off ok, but then when we got to the system design part (well known question which I had practiced multiple times before), everything I said was apparently wrong. He asked me the same question about my design 4 times, and kept on questioning why I was trying to create the data model and APIs and define the user experience. Like what??? I aced all my other system design questions at FAANG companies so this was clearly a him problem and not a me problem. It wasn't really an interview, more like an interrogation 5. One interview with a big OOD exercise involving actually writing and running the code. I bombed this round to be fair, but the recruiter didn't tell me this was part of the interview, and I didn't prep for this in my studies cuz I thought only boomers asked it. 6. All interviewers asked me the same behavioral questions. I got really tired after saying the same crap over and over again Status: rejected YOE: 3.5 TC: 250k #oracle #tech #oci
alright, move on. we have enough asses from amazon.BTW, even a stellar interview doesn’t guarantee anything. Next time please pull out of whatever you do.
Hey man, I'm just explaining what my experience was. Good thing I was rejected or else I would have to work with people with your lovely personality
Lol oracle you're a fucking child
Ty for sharing. Good to know these things. Sorry that it was annoying for you.
I agree with you. I was asked Same bullshit behavioral questions in all 5 rounds.. by the end of 5th round, I was so Fukin tired of answering same crap!
Lie detector/eye analyzer might have flagged you.
FYI, the System Design interview complaints are pretty much standard throughout the Industry. It's the biggest luck factor around. Bad interviewers, specifically those that have never been architects, is just a guessing game of trying to showhorn a solution into their limited knowledge base. In other words, you got unlucky at Oracle, but you got lucky at the other FAANGs. It's not specific to Oracle unfortunately.
I had a good interview experience with oracle. Pretty challenging and fun tbh.
OP, your comment "only boomers ask OOD".. It's also asked at Wayfair
What is OOD?
The Ood, also known as Oodkind, were a gestalt species of telepathic humanoids native to the Ood Sphere. Humanity enslaved the Ood, mutilating them to ensure a dedication to servitude.
OP will delete this post. Not enough whiners here.

On the other side, I had a great interview experience with them.
Feel like most of the big companies it’s just a toss up what interviewers you get. I had one great interview loop at Amazon, one really bad one a few years before.
