I’m 30 soon to be 31 I live with my parents and do not own anything but my iPhone My current net worth is 200k USD What would you guys deem decent to have at 31? I feel like I’m not making progress #tc #amazon #google #personalfinance #investments #money #faang #stock #finance
You are doing good 👍
Its because you are at amazon fulfillment center. Switch job.
I voted poor af bc you need to know to stack that hard. You’re actually kind of ok but you need to continue to play it well
Tc?
You’re doing GREAT!! 👍🏻 My husband and I had a negative net worth when we were your age - mortgage on house.
Bro, invest your 200k or buy a condo and use it as rental property
This! Invest in 2 condos/ ideally independent houses or a duplex in MCOL area and rent them out.
Rental yield is typically low
At least you work at Amazon! You can be proud that your culture is spreading like wild fire in the tech world.
I’m 36 and at 1.6M. 1.2 of that is cash and stocks. I thought I was doing great but saw a 33 yo post the other day and he had 2.6M. I guess I’m only “ok”. I haven’t lived at home since I was 20. if you aren’t saving 70% of your income or more living with your parents, what are you doing? If you were to buy a car with cash (as you should) and put a down payment on a house, you’d be running out of money in a hurry Edit: here, OP, is a link where you can find out for yourself https://dqydj.com/net-worth-by-age-calculator-united-states/
You guys are absolutely delusional to think a net worth over 1M is just okay
@Joe Can barely lean-FIRE with that shit. Do you even tech?
I stay in India and am 34 and I am worth around 150K USD and I feel I am doing fine. The question you should be asking how much money do you need to retire and not compare your worth with others. That will just lead to greed.
You live with your parents yet you haven’t saved up much? Are they making you pay rent? Where are you spending it all?
I don’t pay rent, I help them with some stuff I’m here thanks to having so many poorly paid jobs also I started working 6 years ago
What have you done with your money in the last 6 years?
