Ok so I got the offer from roku for the qa role. But it seems kinda sketchy. They offered 200k total comp with the choice between 10-20% in equity. So example I could do $180k base and 20k stock or 160k base and 40k stock. They also don’t do performance reviews and said they evaluate comp twice a year to make sure it’s in line with the industry. That part makes me nervous as hell, it’s also a p4 senior role, so dunno how I would feel since promotions might be hard. Currently my base is 123k but I get 60k in stock so 183k tc. I have great wlb and commute is 30 mins 2-3 times a week after covid is over. This would be an hour commute to San Jose from Oakland almost guaranteed at least 4 times a week. Should I negotiate or just skip? I’m also a p3 right now and on path for promotion at workday
This depends on how great Roku is in terms of future growth. I know for a fact that workday is used pretty much at every org. for timesheets n all etc. Not sure if Roku has similar or bigger impact. Unless you absolutely wanna switch and bored at workday, then it’s okay to switch. Otherwise it doesn’t sound that exciting apart from the 40k in comp.
Not worth it.
Op how many years of experience you have?
Pass pass .
Not worth it, you get refreshers at workday so your next year comp would be greater than 200k
Keep on interviewing
Definitely low balling is this position at Roku full manual?
Question to ask yourself what is one thing that is exciting about new role
Stay, get promoted, try other companies including faang. You aim for 300K TC
Hard pass, current workday comp seems better
