Lyft L5 --> Toyota / Woven Planet

Any Toyota research institute people out there? How's the comp, benefits, culture?

TRI treats its people well. Uncertain what it will be like after Woven takes charge and L5 joins the fam.

Woven Planet sounds like a discount clothing store.

I really wonder how they intend to retain those highly paid L5 people. Woven Planet or formerly Toyota Research Institute Advanced Development offers peanut TC for their Tokyo office. Either L5 people will flee or Tokyo staff is gonna riot once they learn that their L5 colleges make 5x their TC

I am in TRI for 2 yrs. I worked in other av company before. What I know is Toyota has been pretty patient and well informed on how hard L4 autonomy is. There are many top talents in TRI. You can check their publications and talks. The pay is competitive even compared with google/FB for good performers and the culture is very bottom up and liberal. It is less a top down company working like a machine but rely more on organic growth from the team. As a result, Toyota is not the fastest player at this time, but like a marathon, if you push too hard at the beginning and treat it like a sprint, it is not a good strategy. Toyota knows it is a marathon, it will maintain a good pace to win at last.
