Crap

React is such a hot skill set. Offering 80K is absolute travesty. The only way you should take this shitty offer is if you don’t know the technology and you are taking this role only to learn it.

I somewhat know it I would be taking it to learn. I felt like 80k was kind of low should I ask for 95?

What is your total YOE also which company?

1, rather not say

You guys realize the job is in Dallas, right? I would try to negotiate at least 90k base for Dallas and 1 yoe

ETC ePqE48 OP Jun 6, 2018

Dallas is cost of living is sky rocketing

I work in dallas. 80K is good for PHP and ASP.NET.

Research Now Arschloch Jun 6, 2018

Ok so for 1 yr YOE I think you can ask for 90. I think you can get it if you know the whole ecosystem pretty well

Why not get a remote role in California and get paid California salary but live in Dallas. Remote roles pay for themselves in ways you don't even think

Wells Fargo qUyB01 Jun 6, 2018

Wouldn’t a remote role pay based on where u live? You can of course lie but still

Rackspace rEEp18 Jun 7, 2018

Pay is based on whatever a company is willing to pay for you and the value you bring to your employer. If the roll is truly a remote then there really wouldn't be any difference in what value you brought whether you live in New York or Texas. Companies use this as a bargaining chip, but you don't have to buy into that. Fight for the pay you feel you deserve. That being said companies in California are much more willing to negotiate any circumstances because they feel bad already for trying to pay you less than they're making.
