I am kind of confused about some communication I received from a Microsoft recruiter. They have a “v-name@microsoft.com” email and appear to be third party as their name is followed by either Search Wizards or Randstad Sourceright. Does Microsoft use these third party recruiters?
Yes - I never talked to an fte recruiter until after I got my offer
Wow, so weird. I understand the sourcer, but was surprised the interview schedule team was 3P also
It's real. Microsoft has an army of contract recuriters battling it out with one another to see who can bring in the most new hires (who pass the interview process) and thereby will get their contract extended. My advice to anyone trying to get into Microsoft is apply to literally every single open position you're interested in. It goes to a different recuriter every time. The more the merrier. During my recruitment, I had 5 different recuriters reach out, interviewed with 3 teams, chose one.
Oh interesting. She did ask me for every single req ID I was interested. If they’ve scheduled only 2 interviews (sales role) is it because there’s 2 HM or is that the loop
She asked you for the req id so she can get ahead of any other recuriter who might pick up your application and reach out. She'll take your info straight to the hiring manager so that you're marked as her candidate. These recuriters want you to succeed, you succeeding looks really good for them lol. And if you're doing 2 interviews with the same team, that's just the loop. If it's two different teams then yea you have two different groups interested
Yes
Microsoft recruiting is shit show. Worst I have seen. Vendors do most of the work, even offer negotiation in many cases. They don’t care - just looking to low ball the offer and get you in. I wonder if recruiters are incentivized at microsoft to get you at discount
Don't they get paid to get you to take the offer? I wonder what is the incentive for them to lowball. I had a very bad experience with one of these v dash recruiters, who changed the offer after I had accepted their verbal offer and started asking for my Payslips and stock plan statement to prove my current TC. Isn't it illegal to ask for these? I walked away and accepted another offer from Salesforce
I got ghosted by one of these people. It’s really rude to say the HM is interested in talking then...nothing! Makes me not super excited to start again with Microsoft recruiting.
Yep external companies handle some of the initial HR stuff for recruiting
Thanks. If they’ve scheduled only 2 interviews (sales role) is it because there’s 2 HM or is that the loop
depends on the team but sounds like that is the full loop
