Hi Blind, I see everyone on here talking about making 500k+ TC, but met someone recently in their early 20s making 1M+ net TC doing commercial painting and being the business owner . I feel like I am in the wrong industry.
Owning your own business is the best way to make bank. But it’s harder work than being an employee and full of risk. Maybe 10% make it
I think a lot of people here never take the time to actually live life when they're young and suddenly realize it their late 20s/early 30s
Yeah bro, I’m in my 30s now and life is basically over and I haven’t done anything with it. Damn. Lots of folks here in the retirement home with that same issue.
My brother in law is a plumber with a small business. He earns more than my SWE spouse who spent the second half of his career in director roles. My brother in law also works harder as owning a business is a 24x7 job.
How much do they make
I have a family friend who owned a Chinese restaurant. They are multimillionaires from it but would rather their kids study CS to be software engineers since the restaurant business is brutal.
Do you enjoy what you’re doing? Are you getting paid enough for you to live a good life? That’s all that matters. There will always be people making lots of money. If you try to play their game to make money like them, you’ll almost always lose.
I would def like to make more
Owner class is different. It's not easy to be an owner, but it is really lucrative.
I’d rather make 500k in tech than 1m as a painter
Wow
Wow indeed
